Each year, we select a different country to commemorate Christmas. This year, we have chosen the Philippines.
In the Philippines, one of the most beloved Christmas traditions is the "Simbang Gabi" or Night Mass, a series of dawn masses starting from December 16 and culminating on Christmas Eve. Families wake up early to attend these masses, often followed by a feast of traditional Filipino delicacies like bibingka and puto bumbong sold outside churches. Another popular tradition is the "Parol," a star-shaped lantern that adorns homes and streets, symbolizing the Star of Bethlehem. These customs bring communities together in joyful celebration of the holiday season.
